My name is Dogtor Yakoo. I was born a deafblind double-merle puppy.

People used to think that I couldn’t be accepted in my world like any other dog. They thought that there was no way to understand what I needed and wanted. I’ve been sharing my journey (and my sister Nuka’s journey) thru stories and videos on how we communicate with our parents. Because of this, other people have been asking us to help them with challenges they face with their deaf, blind or deafblind dogs.

We decided to create a virtual safe space where people can connect together, share challenges, find information, and learn how to communicate with their animals. We learned early on in our family that double-merle dogs need to be helped but there is no more reason for there to be any more double-merle dogs. The PAWtactile language that my parents created for me is helping others to understand and learn that dogs like me and my sister can live a happy and healthy life just like any other dog.
